Masculine Etiquettes: How To Prepare For a Female Visitor

If you want to end up like these guys, follow the list below

It’s the weekend and I know many of you will have female visitors in your humble abodes. So I wanted to let you know that one of the biggest turn-offs for women is visiting a man’s house when it’s out-of–order, messy, jacked-up, funky, dirty, lol . . . you get what I’m saying:-)

Here’s a quick checklist of things to do when preparing for a female visitor:

1. Clean the living room: this is the first place she’ll see and be.

2. Clean the bathroom: this is so pertinent because if it’s nasty, she’ll think you’re nasty and you’ll quickly loose points with her, lol

3. Clean the kitchen: who knows, she may want to cook for you.

4. Clean the bedroom: this is mainly for men who have roommates or plan to get some nookie.

5. Make sure the place smells good: Use atleast 2 scented candles or 2 Glade plug-ins.

6. Make sure there are no annoying roommates around: they can easily kill the mood.

7. Make sure your satellite or cable is working, if not have a variety of movies prepared.

8. Make sure you smell good, have fresh breath, and
clean cut nails (long dirty nails are a HUGE turnoff)

9. Have a few drinks and snacks prepared: strawberries, grapes, and bottled water are good choices. Maybe some alcohol. .

10.If you do plan on “getting busy”make sure you have condoms and massage oils ready: always use protection- there are waaaay to many STDs out there now-a-days!

Now, I know alot of these may seem pretty obvious, but you’d be surprised how many guys let women come over to dirty smelly places- its not a good look. So print this list out and post it on the fridge. . . have a GRAND weekend!

It’s official… I put the Urban Gentleman in the “urban dictionary” yesterday. Check it out here.

So now “Urban Gentleman” has officially been defined by yours truly. The definition of an Urban Gentleman…

1.) A modern day gentleman.

2.) A certain wardrobe style.

3.) A stylish well-mannered man with
swagger. He has knowledge of proper
etiquette and grooming.

Notable Urban Gentleman: David Beckham, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Brad Pitt.

Kanye West has the style of an Urban Gentleman.

“Wow, look at the way he dresses- Lacoste shirts and Ecko jeans, he’s so nice and ambitious- that guy is such an urban gentleman.

With the support from everyone we’ll be sure to bring awareness to this phrase “Urban Gentleman” a saying that was of course coined here at The Urban Gentleman. Have a great weekend everyone!

I've been getting alot of questions recently about jeans. Many of you want to know what are the best brands to buy. There's ALOT that goes into jeans- so many fits, styles, washes, brands, etc. . . It's hard to narrow the best brands down. So I'll do a couple of articles about jeans – this time I'll focus on 10 top brands

~LIST IS IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER~

1. EXPRESS

Express jeans are so nicely tailored. And they're the first jean types that I have friends try-on when they are changing their style from baggy to more tailored and fitted.

2. 7 for all Mankind
aka Seven Jeans

These were my first real "designer" jeans. Seven jeans
are super soft, top quality, and can last you a lifetime. These are everyday jeans for stars, especially when they're in movies.

3. LRG Jeans

LRG Jeans are actually some of my favorite! They have so many styles and colors- they offer looks that no one else does.

4. True Religion

You'll also catch the rich and famous rockin' these on a daily basis- you can tell by the "upside down horseshoe" stitching on the back pockets. They're comfortable and have an overall good fit.

5. Evisu

Japanese jeans are on top these days, and Evisu is one of the top brands stealing everyone's thunder. They're a happy medium between extra baggy and extra fitted.

6. Gap

Gap jeans are also an "every guy" type of jean, probably more so than Lucky. Gap offers a plethora of sizes and style for men of all shapes and sizes.

7. Levi's

When in doubt- Buy Levis. Levi's are the classic jeans, and they ALWAYS look good. The brand develops with time so they work hard to keep the latest styles in stock.

8. Rock & Republic

Once again, these are jeans worn by the rich and famous. I really like the way these jeans fit on most guys. . . they make men look trim and not that it's important to guys, but they also make your ass look great.

9. Tommy Bahama

Some of you may be thinking, WTF! Tommy Bahama?? Yeah, thats right Tommy Bahama. This pick is specifically for the older gentleman- I would say 35 and above (hopefully that doesn't offend anyone). Tommy Bahama offers a great variety of styles and washes that are very comfortable, they're especially good for older gent who are unsure of what type of jean to wear.

10. Lucky

Lucky jeans, I call these the "every guy jean" because almost every type of guy looks good in these jeans.

For some reason, not everyone knows they make jeans. But they do – and they're flawless. Stars like to rock these on the red carpet.

You can buy jeans at most department stores and even at some boutiques. For the best prices on these jeans look for sales at store like Macys, Nordstrom, Saks, etc. and also check out online sites- bluefly.com and ebay.com are always great choices.There are still so many top-notch jeans that I didn't mention- let me know what brand jeans are your favorite. . .

It’s all about the fist bump

It’s always great to have a variety of graphic tees in your wardrobe. And because I always get asked where to buy graphic tees even after I did an article about them I figured I could do a weekly segment on graphic tees. Kanye West Debuts Pastelle at Fashion Week

I just knew Mr.West was up to something when he first showed up to the Louis Vuitton fashion show in a jean jacket w/ Michael Jackson & Lego pins. Apparently throughout this past Men’s Fashion Week, Kanye West was debuting pieces of his clothing line by wearing them to different shows. He was always front row and managed to attend about a dozen fashion shows- (all of that without Alexis’s help- Good job Kanye!) Okay so lets have a look back. . .

Day 1- Louis Vuitton Show w/ seemingly BFF Pharrell:

Like I said the first time- Kanye looks extra regular. I pray that the buttons are the only possible things that are Pastelle.

Day 2-
He was spotted at Kris Van Assche & Junya Watanabe
in a gray notch lapel blazer and red pocket square

Day 3- Front Row at Lanvin Show

For some reason when I first saw this picture I said to myself
“I bet he’s wearingPastelle”. I thought so because it resembles
Kim Jones designs so much – you know, with all the light
blue. (Kim Jones is helping Kanye Design Pastelle)
I think I enjoyed the styling of the outfit more
than the actual individual pieces.

Day 4- at the Dior Homme Show

This was Kanye’s “break-out” day to some people.
Mr.West sported a zip-front hoodie with shoulder patches and a red-, yellow- and pink-striped hood topped with a shark fin. This is definitely the best piece he displayed during the week- from what I saw anyway. The jacket is innovative, creative, and the caliber we would expect from Kanye. I really like the way the jacket looks from the front- the dark gray shoulders & the red interior of the hood is extraFly.
