Democratic Style: Democratic National Convention 2008

 |  Etc  |  No Comments

If you haven’t been watching it you should, The Democratic National Convention (DNC) started August 25th and finishes on the 28th. Now of course you should tune in because it’s historic, but for the relevance of the blog- tune in to check out the top-notch suits these politicians will be rockin‘. Politicians have such a clean, usually well-tailored and classic style. If you want to know how you should look going into the office or to a job interview take notes from them.

The DNC is being held in Denver, Colorado at the Pepsi Center. U.S. Senator Barack Obama is the Democratic Nominee.

Check out some of the pictures from DNC:

Style Notations: Notice that the most of the candidates opt for a black or navy suit and a red, blue, or gold tie. That’s called classic clean…. Personally, I’m a sucker for a well-tailored navy suit, spread collar white shirt, and red tie or light blue tie- It’s perfection.

One thing that I do HATE about alot of older politicians styles is there tendency to have a skinny knot… it just looks old-fashioned in a bad way. And it makes them look fat because the tie goes from skinny to fat- it’s uneven and very unflattering unless you’re rocking a skinny tie.

Welcome To New York…

So, I’m finally here in the city of dreams… and it’s pretty cool so far. Not as cool as Atlanta, but we’ll have to see if my opinion changes. I’m having alot of internet difficulties at my place right now, so my posts may be really sporadic for a week or so… just hang in there!

And I’m actually looking for someone to contribute to The Urban Gentleman on a weekly basis so let me know if you’re interested!
