I’m So High off Etro

Over the past few months I’ve fell for Etro- hard. I mean I was amazed that I had not noticed the designer before. I love color, texture, and print and so does Kean Etro. The pure ironic contrast of prints and strategic use of color in his designs may seem like over kill to some, but it’s like a box of jewels to me. Some of his runway looks seem a bit aggressive, but the Etro ads (in GQ, Vogue, etc) are just downright inspirational. When I look at his line I just wanna touch it, don’t you?
Etro Spring Summer 2009:

i love the use of the older
gentleman… very swank.

how could anyone be more dapper.

one of my favs.

the patterns are sickening.
and i dig the tatts.

every designer had skirt in his
collection this year.
hmmmm, i don’t know how i
feel about that… lol, yes i do.

Justin Timberlake: The Designer, Re-introducing William Rast

After a brief hiatus Mr. Bringing Sexy Back has decided to bring back his line William Rast. Along with other celebrity designers Justin showed his line this week at New York’s Spring/Summer 2009 Fashion Week. I really like his line, it’s very “Justin-like” meaning that the line looks like the clothes that JT rocks on a daily. Which is more than I can say for some others; there’s nothing worse than celebrities who don’t rock their own brands… freakin’ posers! lol, j/k. Above all I admire that the clothing line has included both female and male pieces since it’s debut in 2006.
Justin Timberlake started the line with his best buddy Trace Ayala. The name “William Rast” is a combination of Timberlake’s and Ayala’s grandfather’s names. The clothing line is truly a rocker’s paradise, full off denim and pieces that truly emulates the style of a rockstar. According to a paragraph pulled from the denim line infuses the soul of authentic Southern heritage with the energy of contemporary Hollywood. Discover tailored pieces that blend rock ‘n’ roll rebellion and modern sex appeal for a uniquely defined style.

And if you didn’t know, Mr.Timberlake launched his Re-introduction of the line with a series of mini movies that feature “William Rast“… starring Justin Timberlake as …??? As William Rast why of course! Check out his series of movies HERE

Kanye West Debuts Pastelle at Fashion Week

Kanye West, creative director of Pastelle

I just knew Mr.West was up to something when he first showed up to the Louis Vuitton fashion show in a jean jacket w/ Michael Jackson & Lego pins. Apparently throughout this past Men’s Fashion Week, Kanye West was debuting pieces of his clothing line by wearing them to different shows. He was always front row and managed to attend about a dozen fashion shows- (all of that without Alexis’s help- Good job Kanye!) Okay so lets have a look back. . .

Day 1Louis Vuitton Show w/ seemingly BFF Pharrell:

Like I said the first time- Kanye looks extra regular. I pray that the buttons are the only possible things that are Pastelle.

Day 2-
He was spotted at Kris Van Assche & Junya Watanabe
in a gray notch lapel blazer and red pocket square

Day 3– Front Row at Lanvin Show

For some reason when I first saw this picture I said to myself
“I bet he’s wearingPastelle”. I thought so because it resembles
Kim Jones designs so much – you know, with all the light
blue. (Kim Jones is helping Kanye Design Pastelle)
I think I enjoyed the styling of the outfit more
than the actual individual pieces.

Day 4- at the Dior Homme Show

This was Kanye’s “break-out” day to some people.
Mr.West sported a zip-front hoodie with shoulder patches and a red-, yellow- and pink-striped hood topped with a shark fin. This is definitely the best piece he displayed during the week- from what I saw anyway. The jacket is innovative, creative, and the caliber we would expect from Kanye. I really like the way the jacket looks from the front- the dark gray shoulders & the red interior of the hood is extraFly.

Check out my favorites from Dior Homme
Spring/Summer 2009 Collection:

I love the jacket, great color

The bronzy iridescent jacket is sick, as is the belt

I like the jacket, pants, and shades.
I could definitely see Kanye rockin those shades.
